Review:
Ill state my beliefs front: I'm a chick. I read X-Men comics in my past, but its been years. I do not remember every detail of every relationship and backstory, so they are not a big X-Men Expert. I loved the original X-Men movie and X2.I was so excited when I heard they made Wolverine movie. He and Gambit were my two favorite characters from the comics, and Wolverine is by far the best written and one of the best actions of the characters in the X-Men franchise. I thought this should be good! I'm counting the days until we leave. And I did not go to the theater, hoping for disappointment, but was thrilled. It is a middle-of-the-road-movie that does not know how it is, seems to be. However, I would go see if you or Hugh Jackman X-Men fan.The great crime writing in Wolverine. I always tell writers do not get the loan at a movie good enough. But no amount of good acting (almost all of Wolverine work well with what they have) and ok direction mask crappy writing. The script is all over the place. She had the happy yet nervous feeling of the first two X-Men films. Wolverines wisecracks savvy and intelligent, but they are all forgotten. It wouldve maybe it's OK if you have decided that Wolverine dark, almost evil character who is supposed to be, before he lost his memory. But they did not. He was neither good nor evil. It is ambivalent Wolverine. Type Emo Wolverine. Not up to do bad, but not really into it, because it's a bad feeling. No really interesting lines or plot points or so. Writers apparently do not even know how to develop the relationship between Wolverine and Sabertooth. A love story will go into the studio just to satisfy us would see a cartoon chicken without him? If so, the studio has done us great harm, because if you wanted to do a story about Wolverine lover (which, hey, I would go see), this film was not well. And when I saw that in the trailer was to move in the movie, I was thrilled! Gambit in the film, in the end! But here he is, underdeveloped and confusing type move. He could have at least had his New Orleans accent? The cards were great, but he is far from sufficient and do not feel like Gambit much.The film has some good moments in it where you can actually say yes! Not put in spoilers, so I will not say what they are, but for me, they made a movie worth seeing. Although I would not put it anywhere on my worst movie list, I would with the X-Men and X2 are on my list of favorites, either.
