Review:
It seems to many of the reviews on this site that some people may expect too much of the film as Napoleon Dynamite.This art theater, people. Its absurd comedy. Do not go see this movie looking for deep meaning or well-constructed plot - the vague semblance of plot is as artificial as they come, and it seems like posting on the film structure and to obtain the audience a little happy ending allow. NO, Napoleon Dynamite is not to change the world - his live-action South Park (Preston, Idaho, where the film is set, in fact, bears a strong resemblance to the real South Park, Colorado). It is highly ironic, self-mocking, ruthless within sight gags and one liners with no apparent purpose other than to laugh at the expense of the main characters, especially the eponymous Napoleon, a good stand-in for anyone whos ever felt as socially inept outcast trapped in hell high school.This film is not for everyone, but if you see glimpses of his childhood years in various awkwardnesses and failure of the main characters in denial. Do not see Napoleon Dynamite, if you expect sensitivity - go see it if you're pissed off at the world and just to laugh. I went for the first time last night, and im still breaking into spontaneous laughter when one of Napoleon funny one-liners or blank face dead-pan sequitirs to emerge.
