Tagline for this movie is an epic of epic Epicness and I could not agree more. After waiting in line for three hours last night at Comic-Con and finally sat in the beautiful Balboa theater, I knew what to expect. I loved comics and previews looked believers. By the time the movie starts (literally, the Universal logo and theme in 8-bit), which are thrown into the atmosphere comics with video game references aplenty.The plot revolves around Scott Pilgrim must defeat seven ex evil-boyfriends of Ramona Flowers in order to date and is horrible series of battles. Each fight is crazier than the last, and some are used only for comedy not hype. Almost every other line is a joke and they all work. References to television programs, video games and comics (as well as life, 20-something included) are everywhere and if you accept the concept of plot, it feels natural.While mightve pub , public interest was biased (held 10-minute ovation by Edgar Wright film when complete) there is no doubt that his great film. Edgar Wright has a strange sense of comic timing with edits and sound signals to make the picture steady and focused in their quest for laughs.I can not imagine conventional theater erupted in applause and laughter as our not, but make no mistake, this pleasure for everyone and most enjoyable film I've seen in years. Please see this masterpiece in a theater near you.
