Review:
I feel I should let everyone reading this know my inherent bias in favor of this movie. I have seen eight eight p.m. films from Clint Eastwood as director and as most of them, and some people are better than they (my average rating for the movie 28 is 7.9 ). But something felt off about Gran Torino on the trailer. I read it as trying to be a badass Eastwood again, trying to be Dirty Harry again. Gran Torino is not so. Walt Kowalski may have in common with Dirty Harry, and can be read as a much older version of Harry (spreadsheet), but he is one, own their own memorable character and Id go r so far as to say that one of Eastwood's best performances, and one that gives him a chance to show off his comedic and dramatic chops.Im would not say that Gran Torino was acting entirely aid ; dja young cast. It does not. In fact, some of them are really good at times, but the film works in spite of their disabilities. This screen can be printed with Eastwood in mind (I'm not sure on the details behind the scenes of this) and it shows. He perfectly captures Kowalski. The film is surprisingly funny, something not captured enough Väli advertising. Absolutely hilarious at times (watch when Kowalski tried to make a man of Thao with teaching him how to speak like a man), and Eastwood handles change in outstanding tone . When the film took a dark turn towards the end I sat on the edge of my seat in suspense, knowing where it is going but still intrigued by Eastwood's direction tour-de-force. This is a konstnäri his prime as an actor and as director.Whether or not Gran Torino will be held as one of the major film Eastwood remains to be seen, and the film feels like it will be good for many views. Characterization is strong and not easy at all, one can argue that Kowalski is just another war vet irritated, but Eastwood's beautiful, nuanced performance as well as some neat little touchscreen (safety ; rskilt towards the end) that I usually discuss in detail in order to avoid destroying anything (and really fun to watch this film developed, Eastwood keeps the film moving at a great speed means) will prove you wrong. The film works on another level as Eastwood's image deconstruction. I do not mean it as a negative, it just adds character study.Its film strength as a more intimate film than Eastwood's second film this year, Changeling, and even on a smaller scale than many other films, but equally ambitious ambitious in many ways. This is not a politically correct film about cranky old racist suddenly transformed into the most accommodating people around, it's a film about a man who at the end of his life, was had to deal with the devil, and the sunnier side of a man who finds true friendship where she least expects it. At the end of Gran Torino, I have forgiven any shortcomings it may have, and have been really happy with the film, which far exceeded my expectations. I have a feeling that Gran Torino, which was met with very positive reviews (though still described as small by some of Eastwood's films), will eventually become particularly important part of the nomination Eastwood .
